Nor-Lake Introduces Student Co-op Program

by Feb 19, 2016
Nor-Lake has recently partnered with the University of Minnesota to implement a new Student Co-operative (Co-op) program. Co-op education supports the bridge between employers and students while benefitting everyone involved. Students receive hands-on experience in their chosen field of study while introducing the latest theories and ideas to employers.

Co-op students can be used for a wide range of assignments from specific projects to standard duties and procedures. Students will also meet their short-term human resource needs by working on certain projects as well as provide us with the opportunity to assess student performance for long-term recruiting needs.

Our first Co-op student, Nick Plantz, a Mechanical Engineering major, started in the Engineering department in January.   We are currently in the process of recruiting a second Co-op student with an Industrial and Systems Engineering major who will work in Mike Deason’s area.

We are excited for the opportunities this program will provide and we know this will help us to continuously improve on recruiting diversely talented and highly motivated students.
